Current student Jessica Hasapis '13 and recent alumna Mirla González '12 recently traveled to the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages Convention in Philadelphia, PA, in order to present research they developed in collaboration with Associate Professor of Spanish Kevin Gaugler. Entitled "Service Learning and Location-Based Gaming in Language Instruction," the presentation explored methods for incorporating community-based activities and student-developed games into Spanish language courses. González continues to pursue her interest in language instruction, service learning, and technology as a graduate student at the University of Kansas.
