Dr. Geri Wildenberg teaches Organizational Behavior, Operations Management, and Introduction to Business. She has also taught or assisted courses in the MPA and MBA programs. Since 2005, Dr. Wildenberg has also been an Adjunct Professor for John Jay College in their Masters of Public Administration Program, teaching Public Administration, Organizational Theory, Organizational Performance Measurement, Program Evaluation and Development, Management Systems and Techniques, and Politics and Processes of Outsourcing.
Dr. Wildenberg joined Marist in 2012 after completing a 33 year Army career. As a Department of Army Civilian and Army Reserve Officer, she held a variety of positions to include Facilities Engineer, Deputy Director of Engineering and Housing, Chief Business Operations Division, Chief Utilities Division, Deputy Chief Engineering Plans and Services Division, and Chief Engineering Resource Management Division in both the continental United States as well as in Europe. Outside of public works, Dr. Wildenberg’s experience includes service as an Executive Officer for Installation Operations as well as Chief of Staff of a special task force in support of Headquarters, US Army V Corps. In each of these positions, she earned praise for her role in executing organizational change and transition, Base Realignment and Closure, strategic sourcing, as well as for instilling a culture of organizational excellence.
Dr. Wildenberg earned her doctorate in Organization and Management from Capella University. Her dissertation research topic examined the use of organizational culture to improve communication during change in public sector organizations. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from John Jay College in New York City and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from Colorado State University. Over the course of her career, Ms. Wildenberg has successfully completed numerous management, leadership, technical and personnel courses and seminars to include the Army Management Staff College Sustaining Base Leadership Program, Personnel Management for Executives, Organizational Leadership for Executives and the Army Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses.
Dr. Wildenberg’s military awards and decorations include 3 Commanders’ Awards for Civilian Service, various letters of appreciation and certificates of achievement, and more than 25 awards for exceptional annual performance. She was most recently recognized for outstanding service to individuals with disabilities by the Marist Office of Special Services.
Current and former professional affiliations include the Teaching Society for Management Educators (OBTS), Pi Alpha Alpha (the National Honor Society for Public Administration), the Academy of Management, the Association of Facilities Engineering, the World Future Society, the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Society of Military Comptrollers.
Geri has held professional instructor certifications in both kayaking and downhill skiing. Currently, she enjoys scuba diving, backpacking, hiking, bike riding, rock climbing, kayaking, downhill skiing and birding.
