Marist's Master of Business Administration (MBA) online program is one of a small number of MBA programs nationwide to be fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB-International is the premier accrediting organization for business programs worldwide.
Marist College, long recognized as a leader in the use of technology in the classroom, was the first college in New York State to gain approval to offer its entire MBA program online. The rapid expansion of internet access and capability, combined with technological advancements in educational software, make it possible to create a stimulating, flexible, and highly interactive vehicle that provides working adults convenient access to graduate studies without sacrificing academic quality.
The online MBA degree program offers an unsurpassed mix of quality, convenience, and flexibility. Students juggling work responsibilities, travel requirements, and family commitments can pursue their MBA from the convenience of their own keyboards, wherever and whenever that may be.
Through the use of cutting-edge instructional technology, the MBA online delivery option enables students to interact extensively with both their instructors and classmates. Each student is assigned a log-on and a password that allows them to access the course content, the professor, and their classmates. Communication is ongoing via e-mail, bulletin boards, group conference rooms or private chat rooms. The online MBA program is organized in such a way as to enable students to work with each other on group projects just as they would in a traditional classroom. Interestingly, some students have reported more interaction with the professor and student peers in online classes than in the classroom.
The communications capabilities are at the heart of the online MBA program and become seamless as you progress through the course. All work in the online classroom is completed and submitted online. You submit written work as an email attachment, such as a Word document or Excel spreadsheet. Throughout the semester, students access lectures, share course information, work on group projects, submit class work, and take exams, all online. There is no on-campus requirement nor is everyone expected to be online at the same time.
As with a traditional class, you are expected to read any textbook material or outside reading material prior to a certain due date specified in the course syllabus and course calendar. Usually, there are a number of discussion questions or problems due with each assignment that require you to answer and/or participate in class discussion. For example, your professor may ask you to express your views about the ethical aspects of a public policy. The professor expects each student to contribute their ideas in the conference room at their convenience by the due date and, where appropriate, to discuss alternative viewpoints with classmates. Everyone Participates!
Online MBA courses are identical to the classroom-based courses in every way except one - the method of delivery. The online MBA degree program is comprised of the same courses, covers the same material, and is taught by the same exceptional faculty as one would find in the classroom. The online MBA courses are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
