Credit by Examination
The two most common examinations (standardized tests) are:
- CLEP – College Level Examination Program (can be completed through a designated testing center).
- AP – Advanced Placement (usually taken as a high school student)
Marist will review scores for credit from any previously completed Advanced Placement (AP), College Proficiency Examinations (CPE), NYS Regents College Exams, ACT-PEP, or the College Level Examination Program (CLEP).
Tests must be completed prior to matriculation. Credit assignment is determined by the academic school associated with the subject discipline covered. For example, the School of Computer Science and Math would review an AP course in Calculus to determine credit to be awarded.
