Jess Collins is a Social Work major from Simsbury, Connecticut. Jess was recruited for Marist’s Division 1 rowing team, which was recently predicted to place second in the MAAC championship.
What was your first impression of Marist when you visited?
My first impression of Marist was that the campus was in the perfect location. Not only was it right on the Hudson, which was ideal since I am on the rowing team, but it was in reasonable distance from all sorts of stores and restaurants. I also thought that the size of the campus was just right. After my first visit, I knew that Marist was the school for me.
What is your favorite thing to do around campus?
My favorite thing to do around campus would probably be taking a walk down by the water when it’s nice out.
What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming freshman?
One piece of advice I would give to incoming freshman would be to keep an open mind. Making the transition from high school to college can be challenging, but it will be some of the best years of your life.
