POUGHKEEPSIE (May 31, 2016) – During a highly volatile presidential primary season where public opinion polls were under intense scrutiny, The Marist College Poll and its media partners, NBC News and The Wall Street Journal, received the highest praise from one of the nation’s most respected news organizations.

Bloomberg Politics ranked the NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll number one for its accuracy, beating out twelve other polling organizations for that distinction. The honor generated accolades from NBC News Political Director and Moderator of Meet the Press Chuck Todd. Following the release of the ratings, Todd tweeted, "Big kudos to our state polling partner, Marist, for earning NBC/WSJ/Marist the TOP 2016 accuracy grade so far."

The NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll conducted 18 surveys in 13 hotly contested battleground states during the presidential primary season.

Under the direction of Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, Dr. Barbara L. Carvalho, and The Marist Poll Team three hundred highly-trained Marist College students participate in the Marist Poll as telephone interviewers, research and polling assistants, and office workers.
