2014 Renewable Energy Conference at Marist, June 25-26

POUGHKEEPSIE (June 19, 2014) – Marist, The Business Council of New York, and The Hudson Renewable Energy Institute will present the 2014 Renewable Energy Conference at the College's Poughkeepsie campus on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26.

The keynote address will be delivered by Richard L. Kauffman, chairman energy and finance for New York State and chairman of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Other speakers will include leaders from the power generating industry, manufacturing, the legal arena, and academe. Click here for a full schedule of sessions.

The U.S, and New York State, in particular, are being dramatically affected by recent changes in energy policy. Whether the New York Energy Highway Blueprint, the New York Green Bank, a new New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) capacity zone, or the roll out of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Order 1000, the energy landscape is changing. The conference will examine the impact of these policy changes on the competitive bulk electric market place with associated impacts on the use, development, and pricing of renewable sources of supply.

"The Marist College School of Management is proud to partner with The Business Council of New York and The Hudson Renewable Energy Institute to host the 2014 Renewable Energy Conference, the premier energy conference on the East Coast," said Dean Larry Singleton. "Speakers include industry experts from the public and private sectors, and participants represent a Who's Who of energy and professional services firms."
