Jacob Grossberg: A New Exhibit at the Marist Art Gallery

POUGHKEEPSIE (Feb. 3, 2014) –  The latest exhibition at the Marist College Art Gallery will feature the work of sculptor Jacob Grossberg. The exhibition opens Thursday, Feb. 6  and runs through Friday, March 7. Featured works are beautifully crafted, hand-forged sculptures. Grossberg sculpture

Grossberg earned his B.A., M.F.A. from Brooklyn College and his M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. His teaching credits include: Brooklyn College; Teachers College, Columbia University; Pratt Institute; Philadelphia College of Fine Arts; and Bard College. Exhibitions include: Max Hutchinson Gallery, Genovese Gallery, the Brooklyn Museum, the Chrysler Museum, Riverside Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Pennsylvania Academy, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and many others.

A closing reception for Grossberg will take place on Thursday, March 6, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Grossberg has been an altruistic, influential, and valuable member of the art community. A Korean War veteran, he has benefited from friendships with some of the most important artists of his generation and has taught many of the most influential artists of the next generation.
