"NIGHT ON BROADWAY" TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AIDS FOUNDATION
POUGHKEEPSIE -
The Marist College Singers will present "Night on Broadway," a collection of some of Broadway's most famous musical pieces to date, a concert for people of all ages that will also raise money for Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS Foundation.
Performances are Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 25, at 3 p.m. in the Nelly Golleti Theatre, located on the third floor of the Marist College Student Center. A catered dinner in the college's newly refurbished Cabaret will be offered at 6 p.m. for the October 24 show for those interested in a dinner-and-show package. There will also be carnation sales, raffle prizes donated by Broadway Cares, and a bake sale.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for faculty, staff and alumni, and $5 for seniors and students. The dinner-and-show all-inclusive ticket is $40.
"Night on Broadway" features musical selections performed by the Marist College Singers, Freshman Women Singers, Women's Select Choir, Chamber Choir, and mixed solos and duets, accompanied by the Marist College Orchestra. Saturday evening's show will be hosted by Kelly McCormick, who performed in the Broadway productions of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Pal Joey."
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is a charity that educates the public about HIV/AIDS and participates directly in the lives of performers who struggle with this disease.
