Intern of the Year

Aislinne Lutz '13 to be Honored at Annual Field Experience Ceremony

POUGHKEEPSIE (April 22, 2013) – Aislinne Lutz, a senior Criminal Justice major with a double minor in Psychology and Global Studies is the recipient of the 2013 Marist College Intern of the Year Award. Lutz, a resident of Glenmont, N.Y., will be honored at the College's annual Field Experience Recognition Award Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 2:00 p.m. at the Historic Cornell Boathouse.

The annual award, given by Marist’s Center for Career Services since 1993, recognizes a graduating senior for outstanding achievement in experiential education, which includes internships, co-ops and student teaching assignments.

The event's keynote speaker will be Eben Yager, senior vice president and general manager, Hudson Valley RenegadesAt the award ceremony, Stephen Cole, executive director of the Center for Career Services will present the 2013 Marist College Intern Employer of the Year Award to Health Quest

Seven other students will also receive intern awards. They are: Paige J. Palermo '13, Fashion Merchandising major; Jacquelyn Mucilli '14, Communications major; Ryan Wallner '13, Information Technology and Systems major; Megan Rutkowski '13, English major; Chelsea M. Botta '13, Business Administration major; Krista Hammel '13, Environmental Science and Biology double major; Christina Aiuto '14, Psychology, Elementary and Special Education major.   

Desmond Murray, assistant director of Field Experience, will present the awards to the intern recipients in front of an audience of employers, Marist faculty, staff, and students. One college-wide award is given annually to a student who has received the highest rating score of all of the various schools from a panel of judges.

Lutz is a dean’s list student and a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honors society. She has participated in five internships, including ones with the United States Secret Service; National Security Associates WorldWide; Potomac Recruiting; the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services; and the Albany County Family Court. She is also a member of the Criminal Justice Society, Dance Club, Campus Ministry, and the Marist College Singers.  

Past recipients of the employer award have been Anderson Center for Autism, Hudson Valley Magazine, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, MTV Networks, Target, Morgan Stanley, Maggy London International, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department, Center for Enhanced Performance at U.S. Military Academy, St. Francis Hospital, IBM, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, American Cancer Society, Central Hudson Gas and Electric, Northwestern Mutual Life, Paine Webber and Madison Square Garden.
