"Making Light," an exhibition of works by Larry Brown and Jean Feinberg at the Marist College Art Gallery, will open Wednesday, Nov. 7 with a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public.
The title "Making Light" refers to the artists’ common interest in nature and the experience of light. Both work abstractly and are concerned with color and a sense of place.
Larry Brown's large scale paintings reveal his concerns with the relative relationships between science, nature, and our fragile ecological climate. Jean Feinberg's constructed paintings ("Dinner in Winter," right) reference nature's subtle intricacies of light and color.
The exhibition continues through December 5. Gallery hours are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Please note that the Gallery will be closed November 21-25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
