Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes Santiago and Tellitocci with Shaker Awards
POUGHKEEPSIE (March 10, 2014) – The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce has recognized Director of Undergraduate Admission Luis Santiago '98 and Senior Associate Athletic Director Travis Tellitocci '04 with its annual Shaker Awards, which honor the top 40 people under age 40 who are helping shape the future of the Hudson Valley and make it a better place to live and work.
Santiago is in his thirteenth year in the admission profession. He entered Marist through the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and served for eight years as the admission program liaison. Previously, Santiago held the position of director of on-campus visits and events. In his current position, he is responsible for a staff of seven full-time and four part-time employees. He oversees freshman and transfer application review, recruitment, and marketing. During his tenure, Marist has seen applications double and selectivity increase. Santiago also served a three-year term as college delegate for the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Walkway over the Hudson State Historic Park.
Tellitocci is in his eighth year as a member of the Marist Athletics department, and was promoted to senior associate athletic director
for internal affairs in August of 2013. In this role, he is responsible for the oversight of the athletic department’s business operations, marketing, media relations, broadcasting, licensing, tickets, club sports, intramurals, and recreation. Under Tellitocci's leadership, the athletic department financial operations have been transformed through the development and management of the department’s budget and integration to the Banner financial system. Tellitocci played an integral role in the design and management of $25 million in completed capital projects, including a multi-sport stadium, basketball office and locker room complex, and arena renovation. He also led the redesign of the department’s website and the creation of the "Red Fox Network," a programming platform for Marist Athletics, including video streaming, highlights, and interviews.
Santiago and Tellitocci will be honored, along with the rest of the "40 Under 40," at an April 22nd reception and ceremony at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and the Bardavon Opera House. Click here to purchase tickets.
