Marist Music Department presents spring concert at the Bardavon
POUGHKEEPSIE - The Marist College Music Department presents its annual spring concert, "Reflections on the Hudson" on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House.
Groups performing Saturday include the Marist College String Orchestra, Wind Symphony, and Gospel and Chamber choirs. For the third consecutive year, Marist Singers alumni will be welcomed back to the stage in a performance of John Rutter's Magnificat.
Sunday's show includes performances from the Marist College Symphonic Band, Freshman Women's Choir, Chamber Choir, and Marist College Singers. The show will be preceded by a 2:50 p.m. recognition ceremony for the Marist Music Class of 2013
Themed "Reflections on the Hudson," the program will reflect, through song, on the musical tradition Marist had built in the Hudson Valley over more than 30 years. The Bardavon has played host to the spring concert since 2001. The concert will feature selections from an array of musical styles, from Broadway to Americana, and many others.
Tickets are $15 for general admission; $12 for Marist faculty, staff, and alumni; $12 for seniors; and $10 for children and college students with ID.
