Top NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski to speak

Center for Sports Communication hosts Yahoo Sports columnist

POUGHKEEPSIE (Nov. 6, 2013) – The Marist College Center for Sports Communication presents Yahoo Sports NBA writer and best-selling author Adrian Wojnarowski in conversation with Dr. Keith Strudler, discussing his experiences in the business of sports journalism and the state of professional basketball. 

Wojnarowski is best known for his work with Yahoo Sports, where he has built a reputation for breaking NBA stories and cultivating top sources. Wojnarowski also serves as an NBA insider for the NBC Sports Network. Previously, he worked as a columnist for The Record (N.J.), where he was named “Columnist of the Year” in 1997 and 2002 by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

Wojnarowski also has had his work featured in various national publications, including ESPN The Magazine, The Sporting News, and New Jersey Monthly, and he appears regularly as a featured television guest on ESPN, MSG Network, and many others outlets. 

Wojnarowski is also well known for his New York Times bestseller "The Miracle of St. Anthony: A Season with Bob Hurley and Basketball’s Most Improbable Dynasty." The book chronicles the world of legendary St. Anthony High School (N.J.) basketball coach Bob Hurley.

Dr. Keith Strudler, director of the Marist College Center for Sports Communication, will moderate the one-on-one discussion with Wojnarowski, covering topics from trends in sport journalism to the state of the NBA. The discussion will be followed by a question-and-answer session from the audience.
