American Chemical Society Approved Program

Our goal is that you be fully equipped to pursue a satisfying career when you graduate and to continue learning. To that end we follow a chemistry core curriculum approved by the American Chemical Society,(ACS), supplemented by elective courses in some of the fast-developing areas of chemistry. Because of the inter-relatedness of chemistry and other fields we require or recommend courses in mathematics, computer science, physics, biology and environmental science. Chemistry majors may also pursue a program with a biochemistry emphasis, of particular importance given the direction of current research in biotechnological areas. Those students whose coursework follows the ACS recommended curriculum will receive and ACS-certified baccalaureate degree, (B.S).
