Develop self-reliance, independence and leadership qualities

Marist has a very active Student Affiliate of the American Chemical Society on campus. This activity provides opportunities for service and the development of leadership potential. It also fosters cooperative learning among students, exchange of information about computer software, and other forms of socialization. The student affiliate is very active in planning and preparing for the chemistry seminars that are held monthly and organizes tutoring sessions for beginning students.

Upperclass students have the opportunity to assist professors in supervising and helping students in the laboratories. This has proven to be a great learning and maturing experience for them, and has helped them to win paid teaching assistantships in graduate school.

The Marist Approach: Measure success by accomplishments of graduates.
