Research projects are usually for either 3 or 6 credits and are taken during either the junior or senior year. The summer between the junior and senior year is a particularly good time to participate in this type of activity. Some typical examples of recent student projects include:

• fecal coliform analysis of sites along a local stream through areas of different land use.
• uptake of PCB's by Hudson River zebra mussels
• effects of zebra mussel filtration on sediment deposits in the Hudson River
• effects of electromagnetic fields on plants
• reproductive success of Hudson River zebra mussels
• weed control and vegetable production using different mulcheson an organic farm.
