Katherine D. Greiner , M.S., MT (ASCP)

Professor Greiner joined the Marist faculty in 1983, having previously taught in the Department of Medical Technology at Michigan State University. She is currently the department chairperson and served as Acting Director in 1990 and from 1991-1993. Professor Greiner teaches Immunohematology I and II, Clinical Microbiology I and II and Human Biology.



Catherine E. Newkirk , M.S., M.T.(ASCP)

Professor Newkirk joined the Marist faculty in 1982, having previously taught at St. Vincent's Medical Center School of Medical Technology where she held the position of Education Coordinator. Professor Newkirk served as Director/Chairperson of the Medical Technology Program/Department from its inception in 1982 until 1999. She teaches Methods in Medical Technology, Hematology I and II, Topics in Medical Technology, General Biology Lab I and Human Biology.


Robert J. Sullivan , Ph.D., M.T.(ASCP)
Associate Professor of Medical Technology

B.S., Fairfield University

Dr. Sullivan joined the Marist faculty in 1990, having previously taught at Sacred Heart University. He teaches Clinical Chemistry I and II, Clinical Microscopy I and II, General Biology I and Anatomy and Physiology I and II.


Required courses for Medical Technology majors are also taught by full-time faculty in other School of Science departments.
