Since January 2003, the coalition has organized a diverse membership. Accomplishments include:
March 2003 - Conducted a survey of area college students living on their own in the community and their use of alcohol and drugs
December 2003 - Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) for local tavern and night club owners
December 2003 - Workshop for local college administrators and tavern owners on roll of the New York State Liquor Authority
May 2004 - Recipient of a two year grant enforcing underage drinking laws through the US Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention
June 2004 - Offered education sessions for parents of incoming college freshmen on risks associated with alcohol and the use of fake identification
August 2004 - Committee organized to explore developing a diversion program for youth charged with using false identification
September 2004 - Distribution of resource packet to area college students living on their own in the community
- - Hosted a community picnic bringing together college students and other local residents to address community quality of life issues
- - Coordinated community neighborhood meetings with college students and neighbors
- - Sponsored a meeting for City of Poughkeepsie landlords informing them about their rights and responsibilities around underage drinking and other City ordinances
October 2004 - Conducted outreach to students living on their own off campus in the community
August 2005 - Held Press Event to introduce decals that youth created to say "We Card Because We Care!" for all off-premise liquor establishments that complied during two rounds of compliance checks to 90% of off-premise liquor establishments in both the City and Town of Poughkeepsie
September 2005 - Distribution of resource packet to area college students living on their own in the community
- - Hosted a community picnic bringing together college students and other local residents to address community quality of life issues
- - Coordinated community neighborhood meetings with college students and neighbors
- - Held a landlord meeting held to address City of Poughkeepsie health, fire, safety, and zoning issues
- - City of Poughkeepsie conducted several Party Patrol Operations
- - Sponsored a meeting for City of Poughkeepsie landlords informing them about their rights and responsibilities around underage drinking and other City ordinances
October 2005 - City and Town of Poughkeepsie conducted DWI checkpoint operations
- - Conducted outreach to college students living on their own in the community
