Transfer Student Peer Mentor Program

Below are some of this year's Transfer Peer Mentors. Incoming transfer students will have a chance to meet these peer mentors, as well as others, at Orientation on January 20, 2013.

Jennifer Auclair

 Jennifer Auclair, '15

Hometown: Brunswick, ME
Major: Psychology / Special Education
Previous College: Ithaca College
Current Involvement: Singers, Ambassadors, ELP, Tour Guide, Orientation Leader, Kappa Delta Pi (Educational Honor Society)
Goals: I hope to help transfers ask the questions and get the help they need to ensure a positive transition to Marist.
Advice to Transfers: Get involved! There is no easier way to meet people and become a part of the community at Marist. Take advantage of the fact that there are so many clubs and activities to choose from!

Current Involvement: Campus Ministry, Kappa Kappa Gamma, RHC, SPC, ELP, Criminal Justice Society
Goals: I hope to ensure a successful and easy transition into Marist.
Advice to Transfers: Get involved in everything you can.

Goals: To make the transfer students feel excited about being a part of this incredible Marist Community!
Advice to Transfers: Make sure you get involved on campus, because it is a great way to jump right into campus activities.

Current Involvement: Italian American Club
Goals: I hope to share my experiences with incoming transfer students as best as possible while making them feel comfortable and welcomed here at Marist.
Advice to Transfers: Utilize your time here at Marist and take full advantage of any opportunity presented to you or that you create for yourself.

 

Kimberly Gomez

Current Involvement: Zumba, Floor Hockey, Habitat for Humanity
Goals: I hope that everyone sees that Marist is truly what you make of it. It’s a great place filled with exciting opportunities as long as you’re willing to go for it!
Advice to Transfers: Every time you’re trying to find an excuse not to do something, that’s when you need to get up and do it. As a transfer, I was hesitant to get involved because I was afraid other students already made new friends and that would be it. Once I went to one activity on campus, it really made a difference.
