Marist College Campus Sustainability Advisory Committee (CSAC)
In October 2007, President Murray appointed the Campus Sustainability Advisory Committee to advise the President,
Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff with developing recommendations for campus sustainability with the goal of
meeting resource demands without undermining the ability of the planet to provide for future generations. Marist
College's Campus Sustainability Advisory Committee commits the college to sustainable leadership in three areas:
- research and education
- campus operations
- stewardship in the Marist community
CSAC Goals
- Educating faculty, staff and students about the impact of their actions on the environment
- Identifying, establishing and publicizing sustainability principles, goals and best practices
- Providing a framework for guiding sustainable procedures, programs and initiatives
- Monitoring and reporting progress on campus sustainability initiatives
CSAC meets regularly each semester and is organized into the following working groups:
- Teaching and Research and Co-curricular
- Facilities, Operations and Processes
- Marketing and Public Relations
- Advocacy and Memberships
