PM. Dr Hansen is one of the most preeminent scientists in the world on the topic of global climate change. He is outspoken and had to resist
intense efforts by the Bush Administration to muzzle his efforts to alert the general public to the looming problem of climate change.

Dr. Sylvia Earle will be speaking in the Auditorium Building at the Institute of Ecosystems Studies in Millbrook on Thursday April 23 at 4:00 PM.
Dr. Earle is an internationally known biological oceanographer who has appeared on numerous programs like National Geographic, NOVA etc. She is a
strong advocate for restoring and maintaining the health of the world's oceans and biodiversity.

project, Dr. David Orr, a Oberlin College professor of Environmental Science and widely sought after speaker on campus sustainability efforts, and
Dr. William Schlesinger, the director of the Cary Institute of Ecosystems Studies and expert on climate change, will be participating in a panel
discussion at Bard College on Saturday April 25 from 3:45 - 5:30. The panel is part of a two day conference on how to follow up on the Focus the
Nation efforts of the last two years.
