Listing of events held during the academic year, 2012-2013:

  • Saturday, August 25, 2012 - CSAC coordinated collection of cardboard for recycling on Opening Day Move-In for first year students.
  • Monday, November 26, 2012 - CSAC in cooperation with Dr. Ann Davis's Environmental Economics class hosted a lecture on "Hurricane Sandy and the Hudson River Ecology" with Ms. Frances Dunwell, Hudson River Estuary Coordinator, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
  • Thursday, February 28, 2013  - CSAC sponsored the college's 6th Annual Campus Sustainability Day, "Watch Your Step: Know Your Ecological Footprint" featuring a variety of speakers, films, workshops and vendors.  Keynote speakers included Mrs. Fran Dunwell, Hudson River Estuary Coordinator,  NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Mr. Colin Beavan, filmmaker, Mr. George Pakenham, filmmaker along with the films, Chasing Ice, Idle Threat and No Impact Man.
  • Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - CSAC sponsored a campus-wide free electronics recycling collection for faculty, staff and students in cooperation with Maven Technologies based out of Rochester, New York.  Maven Technologies was the first certified electronics recycler in New York State and strictly adheres to the principles of the "Reuse and Recovery Hierarchy" of responsible materials processing while maintaining a "Zero-Landfill Policy".
