Message from Creative Writing Director

Welcome to Marist College and our Summer Creative Writing Institute! If you love to write your own poems, stories or plays, this is certainly the place you want to be this summer. Participants can look forward to joining a community of writers where everyone can feel comfortable and confident in exploring their own craft, regardless of background or ability. More than simply a classroom experience, the Summer Creative Writing Institute will take you - and your writing - places you haven't been before, with workshops, field trips, writing studios, individual conferences with professional writers, and best of all, plenty of time to write. So, please join us for what our staff likes to call "thirteen days of writing heaven!" I hope to see you this summer!

Respectfully,

Lea Graham, Ph.D, Director
Marist Summer Creative Writing Institute

Professor Tommy Zurhellen, M.F.A., Assistant Professor of English at Marist, is the assistant director of the Summer Creative Writing Institute. Professor Zurhellen's fiction has been published in numerous literary magazines in the United States and abroad.
