We now have an option for students who live away from campus and cannot use the Writing Center.
We are offering Distance Tutorials. This is not simply an email service. What we will do is share your paper online and talk to you over the phone while we comment on your paper. In other words, we will give you a tutorial session just like the one you would get at the Writing Center, only it's online.
Go to the iLinc page https://marist.ilinc.com/perl/ilinc/lms/event.pl
Once there, you need to register for a Writing Tutorial. They will be marked Writing Tutorial 1, Writing Tutorial 2, Writing Tutorial 3, etc. Please note, the day(s) and time(s) of the meetings are in the center column.
Once you have registered, please send your paper as an email attachment in Word Format to the Writing Center, AND include the session you registered for including the session title, date, and time. Use the email link on the right of this page. Please include your paper assignment if it is in electronic form, or have it on hand for your tutorial.
You will receive a phone number and session code in your email. At the time of the tutorial, log on 10 minutes early, download the software file you will need to make ilinc work on your PC, and join the session you registered for.
Call the toll free number, and follow the instructions. The tutor will be online with your paper, and will give you any further instructions.
We especially encourage adult learners, special programs students, and students with disabilities to use this service.
