Dr. Lauren Mounty
Dean, School of Global and Professional Programs
Dr. Lauren Mounty comes to Marist from the Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration, where she was Associate Dean for Academic Programs and was responsible for the oversight of all academic programs, admissions, career services and program management activities for the graduate business school at Fordham's campuses in Manhattan, Westchester County, and Beijing, China. She was instrumental in the development of Fordham's top ranked program in Beijing and other global partnerships in Belgium, Italy, Istanbul, and Barcelona. She also developed numerous graduate degree programs, including the school's first Executive MBA program.
Dr. Mounty has a Ph.D. from Fordham University in Social Service, an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of South Carolina. She has published and lectured on the effects of the World Trade Center disaster on students working in the financial industry and on the development of global academic initiatives in China. She served as a primary representative to the Graduate Management Admissions Council and as a member of the Jesuit Business Schools Network, and has been active with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Marist is an AACSB-accredited college.
Prior to joining Fordham, Dr. Mounty worked with Fairchild Publications in Manhattan. Dr. Mounty has been elected to the position of Board Director for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the Hudson Valley (serving the eight counties of Delaware, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester), and also serves on their audit committee. Dr. Mounty and her family reside in Bedford (Westchester County).
