Home Town: Gresham, Oregon
Major/Minor: Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations / Business and Global Studies
Clubs/Activities: Campus Ministry, Communication Arts Society, and Student Ambassador.
How did you choose Marist: I really wanted to go to school on the East Coast and I heard about Marist from a college consultant. I applied, was accepted, and when I came to look at the school I immediately knew it was where I wanted to go to college.
What do you like best about Marist: I really loved the overall atmosphere. I like the beautiful scenery, the small class sizes, and the friendly people I saw it Marist. It just seemed really welcoming when I came to look at the school for the first time.
What was your favorite class: My favorite class so far would have to be Intercultural Communication. I took the class while studying abroad in Hawaii last summer (June 2008). It was extremely challenging but the overall experience was very rewarding. Throughout the experience I learned a lot about myself and about different cultures.
Where did you study abroad or intern: So far I have done a summer intersession in Hawaii. I will be studying abroad in Dublin during spring 2009 and will be doing an internship while I am abroad. I am also currently looking for an internship in public relations for this summer in either NYC or Portland, OR.
Best part of living on campus: The best part of living on campus is living with my best friends. I have met a lot of great people through going to Marist and I love being able to live with them. So far, I have lived with the same group of girls all three years and while we've had our ups and downs, I've really enjoyed it. I enjoy spend free time going to the movies with my friends, at Starbucks, or shopping at the Galleria.
