Laerdal Medical Academic Partnership
Laerdal is dedicated to their mission of Helping Save Lives through the advancement of resuscitation, patient care, and global health initiatives. After starting out in 1940 as a children’s book and toy company, Laerdal’s pioneering work with soft plastics would later be used to produce the first manikin used for resuscitation training, changing the course of the company. The first patient stimulator, Resusci Anne, is born in 1960. Since then more than 300 million people have been trained in CPR with 2 million lives saved and counting.
Laerdal products and programs are used by voluntary organizations, educational institutions, hospitals, and military around the world. They use evidence-based knowledge to develop and continuously refine their product and service solutions. They believe they can make the biggest impact on helping save lives by efforts to improve educational efficiency and local implementation. The Laerdal’s family passion for continuous improvement, hard work, and endless curiosity will continue to define the future of Laerdal and increase the number of lives saved each year.
