Summer Pre-College Admission
Summer Pre-College: Theatre
Session 2: The 2020 Session 2 programs will run July 12th - July 25th.
We love theatre, you love theatre, let’s discover the art and the practice of theatre together! Come further your love for this great treasure while exploring how the study of theatre is a vehicle to a variety of career paths. The Marist Summer Pre-College Theatre Program offers you a 13 day higher education “test-drive” on the beautiful Marist campus. This program introduces you to rigorous college-level material, as well as the unique experience of living on campus. Mornings are filled with acting games, scene study, and character analysis, and afternoons are spent learning the roles of theatre artists: actors, directors, designers, playwrights, and producers. You will work closely with Marist faculty and our program includes a trip to Broadway with a backstage tour and a private talk-back with cast members. Pre-College Theatre culminates with a final showcase of acting scenes for an invited audience, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your new skills from your two-week hands-on experience. Best of all, we keep our program small so that your experience is an intimate and rewarding one.
If you love theatre as much as we do, you will love immersion in all aspects of this program—learning from college faculty and professionals, applying performance skills, studying college-level course material, visiting Broadway and meeting new life-long friends.
