Perseverance, determination, and goals: three words that have marked my life these past months.
At Marist, I learned that being a transfer student is just a title. From the moment I knew that I was going to become a part of the Marist family I remember thinking, “This is it Hanna, you are an independent woman with a great future in front of you.”
Moving to a new country, away from my family and my home, was difficult. But, as an international transfer student I have been welcomed into a community of great professors with a professional life that goes beyond my expectations. I have also met classmates who have become great friends. Marist is a place where different backgrounds are actually the ones that make you feel more secure about yourself. But most importantly, it does not matter where you come from or which languages you speak, what matters most is who you truly are and who you want to become.
Marist College has showed me that those three simple words can define you as a person. Where perseverance is not only a virtue, but also the key to success in a changing world, where an idea can become reality with some determination, and something as simple as a goal can make you stand out and help shape you as a true leader.
