Bio: Richard joined the Marist faculty in 1999 after a long career in New York City as a writer/director/designer of special events for corporations and institutions in the areas of sales promotion, marketing and corporate identity. His clients included: Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Avon, CBS Records International, Charles of the Ritz, Cheeseborough-Ponds, Clairol, General Electric, Holland America Cruise Lines, IBM, L'Oreal, Mademoiselle Magazine, Nabisco, Proctor & Gamble, Revlon, Warner Communications and others. Richard has the distinction of being one of the earliest proponents to employ CAD (Computer Assisted Design) into lighting projections for multi-media events. Formerly at Hofstra University he taught costume and scenic design, has held seminars in opera direction and staging at Westminster Choir College and has been artistic director of two professional summer repertory theaters. At Marist he teaches fashion design, CAD for fashion students, costume history and is director of the Annual Silver Needle Fashion Show.

Interests: Costume history; European and American portrait painting; Dwarf and miniature rock garden landscaping; Polymer clay jewelry design and fabrication; European peasant cooking.
