Personal Protective Equipment Requests
Marist requires that approved face coverings/masks be worn by all members of the Marist community on an ongoing, daily basis in all public and common areas. General community members should wear cloth/reusable masks, three-layer disposable medical face masks, or approved see-through masks. Supplies are available through the Office of Safety and Security and can be requested by emailing PPE.requests@marist.edu. Please note: neck gaiters and/or masks with valves are not permitted on campus. PPE will be made available, as needed, according to the following guidelines:
Reusable Cloth Face Coverings
- Each student will be provided two (2) cloth face coverings upon request.
- Each employee will be provided two (2) cloth face coverings upon request. If an employee loses one, or if one is damaged during normal use, they may request a replacement.
- Each employee who works in a public-facing position will be provided three (3) additional cloth face coverings upon request. Requests for these additional cloth face coverings should be requested by the employee’s Department Head.
- A public-facing position is one where the employee’s primary job responsibility is interacting with walk-in customers at a publicly accessible service counter or similar. For example, employees who are stationed at the service counter in Student Financial Services would be eligible, but those who are stationed in a cubicle or office in the rear of the SFS suite would not be eligible. Similarly, a departmental receptionist would be eligible, but not the other employees of the department who are not the primary public contact.
Disposable Procedure Masks
Disposable procedure masks will be made available to public-facing departments, including all administrative buildings and points of service, so they can provide a temporary mask to customers who may arrive without a mask. Disposable procedure mask supplies at these locations will be replenished as needed.
