Why this looks valid

• The email looks like it is from the Marist IT Help Desk
• The Help Desk normally notifies users when their password are about to expire

Why this is phishing

• The Keep Current Password link goes to a website that asks for your email address and password, but it is not the Marist login screen
• Grammar errors and spelling errors are usually indicative of a suspicious email
• The Marist IT Help Desk does not allow users to "keep" their current password
• The link in the email does not go to any recognized Marist website or verified 3rd party

• This is an extremely dangerous phishing attempt. If you clicked on this link and filled in your credentials, please contact the Help Desk immediately at x4357 (HELP) or helpdesk@marist.edu
• Remember:  always check the link.  You can hover over the link in the email to ensure that it going to a Marist College service
• Report this message to Microsoft. In Outlook on the Web, click the Junk menu, and select Phishing
• A little paranoia goes a long way! Be suspicious of any email messages similar to this one.
