"Dream Big"
by Anonymous

If there were ever a time to dare,
to make a difference,
to embark on something worth doing,
it is now.
Not for any grand cause, necessarily --
but for something that tugs at your heart
something that's your dream.

You owe it to yourself
to make your days here count.
Have fun.
Dig deep.
Stretch.

Dream big.

This poem may not be an award-winner or that deep in any way, but it's been a part of my life for a long time. It was introduced to me before a sectional field hockey game in high school and I used it with my own players when I was a college coach, and again with our athletes here at Marist.
