Political Science Student Clubs & Leadership Opportunities
The Political Science Club was established to provide extracurricular opportunities in politics for
students and to increase interest and activism in politics among the student body. The club is open to
all students, whatever your major. An interest in politics is the only requirement!
Pi Sigma Alpha is the only honor society for college and university students of government in the
United States. Its mission is to stimulate scholarship and intelligent interest in Political Science at
the undergraduate and graduate level.
The United Nations Club at Marist is a student club that organizes events and activities focusing on
the United Nations System and global politics all year round. The club is open to students of all majors.
The Center for Civic Engagement was launched to foster service learning at the College and to
support productive partnerships with community organizations throughout the Hudson River Valley
region. The Center provides students with many opportunities to gain first-hand, specific knowledge
of politics and policy in action.
POSC 280 Model United Nations is an experiential learning class. This course is centered on
preparation for participation in the National Model United Nations conference in New York City
(NMUN-NY). Over 5,000 college students--more than half from outside the United States--come
to New York City each spring to discuss current global issues and to participate in the NMUN-NY.
