J. Donald Warren, Jr., PhD, CPA

Professor of Accounting and Schobach Distinguished Chair in Accounting; Director, Master of Science in Professional Accountancy

Bio

Dr. Warren teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. Prior to joining the Marist faculty, he taught at the University of Hartford and Rutgers Business School. He serves as the Associate Editor for the Journal of Information Systems, and a Research Fellow and a member of the Advisory Board for the Rutgers Business School Continuous Auditing & Reporting Laboratory. Dr. Warren retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he served in many capacities, including being responsible for the IT audit practice and implementation of audit software. He was a National consulting partner on accounting and auditing matters and the firm’s liaison to the Securities and Exchange Commission. He co-authored the firm’s third edition of the Handbook of IT Auditing and the firm’s SEC Manual. His other work experience includes the United States Government Accountability Office and the Financial Accounting Standards Board. In 2015, Dr. Warren was inducted into the Lamar University College of Business Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments in academe and his distinguish career in accounting. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants.
