How did you decide on Marist College?
I knew the school had a good CS/IT program to start, and the school wasn’t too far from home. The biggest factor for me was the beautiful campus in a nice location, and the size of the school – relatively small. Marist really felt like a welcoming community when I visited and that is ultimately why I chose Marist.
How has Marist prepared you for the real world after college?
I learned a lot about my major, and the types of work I would enjoy / not enjoy doing. I also developed good social skills and written and verbal communications. I worked at the Help Desk, so Marist also helped me form professional connections. I also had to learn how to budget my time (and money), and overall become more independent. I think Marist has prepared me well for the real world life after college and I am very glad that I chose to study and live here.
What would you say to a high school student currently looking at Marist College?
Marist is a wonderful school with many excellent programs, all the students are very kind, the campus is safe, and the faculty and staff are extremely professional and helpful. Also, I would tell them not to stress the college application process too much – it can be harrowing to wait for replies from colleges, but it’s not helpful to worry about it.
