What was your favorite part about the Marist experience?
I would have to say my favorite part about being at Marist was having the opportunity to study abroad. I studied in Florence, Italy at the Marist-LdM campus in the spring semester of 2016 and it was the best four months of my life. I was with some of my best friends there while also befriending people from different cultures, which made my experience so much more valuable. I am so grateful to Marist for allowing me to have that opportunity because I created some of the best memories I think I will ever have in my life.
Do you have any plans for after graduation?
Right now, I am applying to internships and jobs for the summer after graduation, primarily in marketing, development, and visual merchandising. I love to travel so I definitely want to travel the country sometime soon. I have also been thinking about volunteering for an organization that helps children in need based in Africa. I think it would be an eye-opening experience and would allow me to do something purposeful for this earth.
Any advice for high school junior and seniors considering Marist?
Yes, first of all, don’t worry! I know the whole application process is grueling and tiresome and the changes and adjustments that occur during this time are stressful, but you’ll get through it. Try to come to college with an open mind to meeting different types of people. And definitely get involved! I met a lot of my friends through clubs and programs that I joined at Marist so really try to use all the resources that Marist offers you. And also, and most importantly, have fun! My older brothers, who are 30 and 28, still tell me to enjoy my last moments in college and to make the most of them, so I will say the same to you! College is what you make it, so keep a positive outlook and work hard. I believe in you!
