Andrew Brown is a graduating senior from Cheshire, Connecticut. Andrew has not always been an English major with a concentration in Theatre, but recently declared this area of study this year. He is also a Music minor and pursues these creative interests in MCCTA, Marist Singers, and Time Check, Marist’s all-male acapella group. As an active student leader, Andrew is a member of Ambassadors and Orientation Leaders.
What is your favorite thing to do around campus?
I love being involved in a lot of the activities and clubs that Marist has to offer. I'm mostly involved in the Marist College Club of Theatre Arts and Marist Singers but I've also been a part of Ambassadors, Tour Guides, and Intramurals. These clubs always keep me busy and almost all of the friends that I've made in my time at Marist have been through them.
What are your plans for after graduation and how has Marist helped you with them?
After graduation, I plan on going into the casting industry for either theater or TV/film. I wasn't always going to pursue that career field but earlier in my Senior year Career Services helped me get on the right track. Career Services has been a great resource to help me explore career options and offered plenty of helpful advice on fixing my resumes and finding job opportunities.
What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
Think big picture - although your college experience is just beginning the whole process goes by a lot faster than you'd like to think. Be structured and organized with your classes but, most of all, don't forget to make the most of your four years of your life here - you don't want to be in constant stress when you shouldn't be.
