Chris Pollack is a communication major, with a concentration in advertising. He grew up in Bogota, New Jersey, but was born and spent the first few years of his life in Illinois. At Marist, Chris plays intramural soccer and works at the IT Help Desk.
What was your first impression of Marist?
My first impression was awe at the campus. The buildings, location, the river, it just seemed like a place I wanted to stay.
How were you able to find your niche at Marist?
I found my niche just through my housing assignment. I found friends in my freshman dorm and through other people living in the same house as me. Intramurals also helped.
What one piece of advice do you want to give to incoming students?
Don't be afraid to go to events and participate in activities. It's one of the best ways to meet new people and get acclimated to college life.
What has been the greatest opportunity you have gotten through Marist?
I think the location of Marist has been greatly beneficial. Being close enough to commute to the city has meant that I can meet with professionals whenever I need to.
