Molly Demitrack

Molly Demitrack is originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania. She is pursuing a double major in philosophy and communications.

How did you decide on your major?
I have a double major in philosophy and communications, with a concentration in advertising. I was interested in art and the creative aspects of advertising, and I have a passion for philosophy! I came in with my communication major declared and I added the philosophy major my first semester after taking my first-year seminar on the philosopher Lucretius.

What was your favorite part about the Marist experience?
My favorite experience at Marist was going abroad on a spring attachment program to Paris and London. The class was an English course which I counted for my core, and it included a traveling component after the spring semester. I loved seeing the art, eating crepes, fish and chips, and gelato, along with seeing the culture and exploring the cities. The experience was perfect for me since I didn't have time to go abroad for a whole semester but I still wanted to travel!

Do you have any plans for after graduation?
Not yet, I'm applying for jobs every day, though!

Any advice for high school junior and seniors considering Marist?
If you want to work in New York City, definitely go to Marist! They have great connections and internship opportunities like Marist in Manhattan. Real work experience teaches you a lot that can't be learned in the classroom.
