What was your favorite part about the Marist experience?
My favorite part about the Marist experience was creating incredible relationships with some amazing people in this community. All of the professors and administrators at this college truly want the best for their students. They want to see us succeed and will do anything to help us achieve our personal and academic goals. Studying abroad in Florence, Italy at the Marist-LdM campus was also one of the best parts about my years here. I would recommend this remarkable adventure to everyone who needs to step outside of their comfort zone and experience something new and exciting.

Did you participate in any memorable extracurriculars?
I have been a member of the Marist College Teachers of Tomorrow club since my freshmen year. For the Spring 2016 semester, I was elected to join the executive board as Treasurer. In the Fall of 2016, I was chosen to be the club’s Vice President. The goal of this club is to help aspiring teachers be prepared for one of today’s most important professions. Throughout every semester, we host lectures, community service events, and offer hands-on experiences working in the field as well as interactive experiences with children and administrators in local school districts. I’ve gained some invaluable insight into what my future career as a teacher will be like through this club.

What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I will be working in my hometown school district as a substitute teacher. I am planning on applying to go to graduate school and I will hopefully get my Master’s degree in the next few years!

Any advice for high school juniors and seniors considering Marist?
If you do choose to attend Marist, make the most out of your time here and get involved in everything that you possibly can. These four years will fly by so incredibly fast, and before you know it, you will be a senior with less than 100 days until graduation.
