What are your career goals?
I would like to continue working in the online education space managing teams and projects.
Why did you choose to pursue your degree at Marist?
My father is an alumnus and introduced me to Marist. I fell in love with the campus, being on the Hudson River and the tight knit community you immediately feel.
Tell us about a project or course that was particularly meaningful to your professional development?
My business capstone class really prepared me for research and writing needed in the business environment. Researching an actual company and industry, putting together a business and marketing strategy and presenting to my class gave me the confidence to succeed in a real-world setting.
How has a degree from Marist and your course work enhanced your career?
I find myself using the knowledge I learned from courses at Marist on a daily basis. The business acumen I received from Marist has been invaluable.
What advice would you give to a student considering pursuing their master’s degree at Marist?
Don’t hesitate! There will always be reasons to delay taking the GMATs, registering for courses or getting back into the ‘student mindset’. The important thing is to get started- even if it’s taking one course a semester.
If you took an online class or had online learning as part of a regular course, tell us about your experiences – any tips or suggestions to pass along to future students?
Obviously, time management is a huge skill needed to be successful in a virtual environment. However, one suggestion I would pass on is to not be afraid to reach out to your fellow students.
