Danielle Jordan is a member of Marist's M.A. in School Psychology Class of 2015.
Why did you choose the Marist School Psychology program?
I chose the Marist School Psychology program because of the opportunities the program provides. I was able to attend the program full time while working and caring for my family. The courses, professors, and practicum and internship experiences prepare you for the work you will do to help students, families, and educational staff.
What was the best experience you had as a student?
The caliber of students Marist accepts automatically puts you in a collaborative group of smart, hardworking professionals. My best experiences were working with the other students in my cohort to accomplish a class project, build a presentation for a national conference, or brainstorm solutions to difficult situations or demands. Many of the school psychologists who graduate together are colleagues for life and offer a support system or professional sounding board.
What has a degree in school psychology done for your career?
The program provided me with the experience and requirements needed to gain employment right away. It provided me with a professional network. It helped me develop professional goals and increased my chances of achieving them.
