Bio

As Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, I developed and taught classes in Medical Technology; developed and oversaw student’s clinical rotations in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry and Phlebotomy; evaluated student performance; advised students on course choices, graduate school, and career paths; and wrote reference letters for graduate school applications, scholarships, and job applications. Teaching responsibilities included the following courses: Methods in Medical Technology, Hematology I, Hematology II, Clinical Chemistry I, Clinical Chemistry II, Topics in Medical Technology, Human Biology, and General Biology I laboratory.

As Program Director/Chairperson, I was responsible for establishing and administrating a Baccalaureate program in Medical Technology.  My responsibilities included establishing, revising, and maintaining a curriculum; establishing and maintaining clinical experiences for students; purchasing instrumentation and supplies; hiring and overseeing additional faculty; identifying books and journals for library acquisition; recruitment of students; transcript evaluation for transfer students; course scheduling; periodic review of the program for internal assessment, NAACLS accreditation, and NYS licensure eligibility; policy and procedure formulation; and maintaining contractual agreements with clinical affiliates.
