Each year, several Science students are employed by the School of Science to provide assistance to the faculty and staff. These paid positions include assisting faculty in the teaching labs, especially in the introductory level courses. This is an excellent opportunity for students contemplating a teaching career. Other positions include laboratory preparation, assisting in selected upper-level courses, working in the Greenhouse or the Arboretum, and working with faculty on research projects. Students interested in these positions should express interest to a faculty member or to Mr. John Ludlam, Science Laboratory Associate (DN 228A).
The college's Academic Learning Center, located in the James. A. Cannavino Library, also hires upper-level Science students as tutors for lower-level courses and to supervise weekly review sessions for selected courses.
