Learning Environment

The Marist College Medical Technology Department offers small classes and laboratories taught by full-time faculty. Laboratories on campus are designed to accommodate a maximum of twelve students at one time. Clinical rotations at affiliate sites have a one-to-one student to instructor ratio. Instructors at the clinical sites are practicing medical laboratory professionals. College faculty visit students at their internship sites on a weekly basis to coordinate educational activities with clinical instructors. Faculty are always readily available to students for review and further instruction, advising on academic, professional and career issues and for general guidance. Science laboratories on campus are open to students beyond the normal class day for review of laboratory materials and for general study. Faculty in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences want all students to succeed and they provide a supportive learning environment to that end.
