Goal 1. The goal of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the body of knowledge in the field of medical technology and its application in the medical laboratory setting.

Scores from ASCP standardized exam.

Comparing our program mean scaled scores to a NAACLS accredited university based program mean scaled scores:

Expect equal to or higher than first time pass rates.

Expect equal to or higher than mean scale scores.

Clinical site evaluation for Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Chemistry and Immunohematology

On a 1-5 Scale: Overall rating of at least a 3 with no student receiving below a 3.

 

Students will demonstrate the interpersonal skills needed for entry level positions in medical technology/clinical laboratory science

Clinical site evaluation for Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Chemistry and Immunohematology

On a 1-5 Scale: Overall rating of at least a 3 with no student receiving below a 3.

 

Students will demonstrate the problem solving skills needed for entry level positions in medical technology/clinical laboratory science

Students write case studies in clinical II courses and Topics in Medical Technology and have case study questions on their exams

 

Students will receive a grade of 70% or better on case study papers, and exam questions.
