Pre-Health Professions Committee

What does the Marist College Pre-Health Professions Committee do?

  • Meets regularly to assess and discuss the process of advising pre-health students
  • Assesses the files of students requesting committee letters and determines their eligibility
  • Interviews pre-health applicants to help them prepare for their official interviews
  • Composes a composite letter of evaluation for students who are eligible
  • Recommends policies for pre-health programs
  • Helps the Advisor to Health Professions (AHP) and Dean of Science recruit and advise pre-health students
  • Works with students to bring out the strengths of their applications

The goals of the Committee are:

  • To help each student discover which areas of health care, if any, are most appropriate for their career and life goals
  • To maximize the likelihood of admission of each qualified student to health care programs
