Formal ERP Procedure

Hearing Panels

The Title IX Coordinator or designee will appoint a non-voting panel Chair, depending on whether the responding party is a
faculty member, other employee, or student and three members of the ERP to the hearing panel, none of whom have been previously involved with the investigation. ERP members who served as investigators will be witnesses in the hearing of the grievance and therefore may not serve as hearing panel members.  Hearing panels may include both faculty and non-faculty employees, with a least one faculty employee selected in a grievance involving a faculty member. No member of the panel may be a practicing attorney, though the institution reserves the right to have its attorney present during the hearing. The panel will meet at times determined by the Title IX Coordinator or designee.
